What this burnout check measures
This original educational reflection asks about three commonly discussed features of burnout: exhaustion, distance or cynicism, and reduced capacity. It is intentionally not represented as a validated clinical instrument.
Limits: Similar experiences can be associated with depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, physical illness, medication effects and difficult life circumstances. A score cannot identify the cause.
What to do with the result
Look for the strongest pattern rather than treating the total as a verdict. Consider what demand can be reduced, what recovery can be protected and who can help. If exhaustion persists or daily functioning is deteriorating, contact a qualified health professional.
